Dear people
This is the third circular letter of this year.
You may have noticed that there is a slightly different name under the logo. From now on we are called Auxilia! A short retrospective: In 1986 we started as "Brasili-ja". This name came from the fact that Pastor Sjaak went to work in Brazil and a group of people from Wervershoof thought that Sjaak should be supported morally and especially financially. Because Sjaak stopped his work there, our name was initially changed to Auxilia. We did not sustain this for long because this name was not sufficiently known among the people. People kept saying, "Oh, you mean Brasili-ja." We then made it into Auxilia-Brasili-ja. Now we think it's time to change our name to "Auxilia -!".
Goodbye
We are going to say goodbye to two people who have worked for Auxilia in recent years!
We want to thank Esther van Velzen and Lonneke vd Gulik very much for their efforts. We say goodbye to you "officially" at our annual BBQ.

On 26-05, 21-07 and 11-08, Piet and Joanna Neefjes (Vok Koomenweg 5 in Wervershoof) have so-called "Open Garden Days". You can come and admire their garden during these days and I can assure you it is very worthwhile. A small admission fee is requested for Auxilia !.
I have already pointed out to you that you can sponsor our foundation for free. If you go to the website www.auxilia-brasili-ja.nl you will find the logo of Sponsorkliks on the "homepage". If you click on the link below, you will immediately be directed to the correct site. You can search and order from your shop as usual. It does not cost you a penny extra but you do help our foundation in this way.
De Schelp and De Werenfridus school in Wervershoof participate every year in a project for Lent (vastenactie). This year the proceeds went to Auxilia! Wouter de Groot has told us in February about “For a Purpose”. That made us decide not only to donate the proceeds of the ‘vastenactie’ to “For a Purpose”, but to double the amount raised by the children. Wouter has visited all the classes to tell his story. That made a very big impression on the children. So much so that they went to work very enthusiastically.
Deposit bottles have been collected (1220 large bottles and over 100 small ones, all together an amount of 331 euros!), Children have devised fund raising themselves (such as washing cars, taking care of a bingo evening, selling bouncing balls, making and selling cupcakes) and the children went to work with "A bob a job". I can tell you that a lot of work has been done to tidy up the houses and that many children's rooms have been tidied up by themselves. Very nice chores have been devised: a bet with grandma, put on socks with dad, play a game with grandma, hand out chips during Ajax - Juventus, dance on the street and so on. Thanks to the enthusiasm of the children and the teachers, an amount of 3,159.25 euros has been raised. So we were able to give Wouter an amount of 6,318.50 euros. We want to thank everyone who, in whatever way, has contributed to this: children, parents, teachers, sponsors. More than excellent.
