How did Brasilia begin?

Pastor Jan Suidgeest  asked me to make a speech after the service celebrating Father Sjaak’s First Holy Mass on 26th October 1986. During the service I was wondering whether I could congratulate him as representative of the Town Council, but I thought :” Is that sufficient ?”
Then I remembered the Daya committee in Schoorl and I thought perhaps we could ask a group of people to support Sjaak in his work financially and morally.
After the service as I was standing at the altar to congratulate Sjaak on behalf of the Town Council, I invited members of the youth choir and other people in the church to form  a committee (later a foundation) in order  to support Sjaak. Later  outside the church a group of people gathered under the leadership of Miss Nieuweboer – Sjaak’s old teacher. This group included the brother of Sjaak, Peter, and our son.
