Dear Friends,
With gratitude we look back at 2014. Our Auxilia Secretary Kees will give you an update on the projects over this year; I will focus on the future.
Former Minister of Justice, mr. E. Hirsch Ballin invited me to join the Advisory Board of one of the main Dutch Aid organizations "Cordaid". This new challenge gives me as a Mill Hill Missionary and pastor of the international parish in The Hague a wonderful opportunity to make new connections that can help to reduce poverty in the world.
In 2015 The UN Millennium Goals will come to an end. It is time for new initiatives to achieve them. We will try to keep you up to date and celebrate the positive results on the 16th August in Wervershoof.
In 2015, young dr. Alphonse Mulefu will start teaching at the University of Rwanda. He defended his PhD in November at the Catholic University of Tilburg. Ten years ago he came to The Netherlands with little education. The schools in Rwanda were destroyed after the genocide. He spent most of his time in working with traumatized youth from both Hutu and Tutsi tribes. Because he wanted to do more he came to Holland to finish his studies. Last year we both gave a presentation at the Peace Palace where he inspired the large audience with his idealism and courage. Among other sponsors, Auxilia helped him to achieve this wonderful result.
In 2015 Auxilia starts her 29th year. With your help we hope to achieve a new milestone. The dedication and enthusiasm within the group is still as strong as ever. Many thanks for all your support.
I wish you all a very meaningful Christmas and a flourishing 2015.
