Ben Droog 2019
Last year the school received a visit from "The ministry of education". The premises were in such a state that Diana was summoned to make improvements before the end of the year. If no action was taken, the school would be closed.
The Manda Foundation has again visited Kenya this year; I myself could not come along, but I did give them a sum of money to improve the premises. With that amount of money and a very nice contribution from another benefactor, the outside of the premises could be provided with a layer of plaster. As you can see on the photo, that is a big improvement. But .... the money has run out and the inside has not yet been plastered; the floor is also dusty. Applying mats would already be a big improvement.
You understand that the kindergarten is close to my heart; I would be very sorry if the decision had to be made to close the school. Diana is a super enthusiastic teacher who, with the limited resources at her disposal, knows how to bring the children to great enthusiasm and provides them with a pleasant teaching time. I grant her, her colleagues and the children a school that is well-equipped by Kenyan standards. The application of plastering of the premises on the inside and the installation of floor mats involves an amount of approximately € 750.00. With this letter I appeal to the Auxilia foundation to sponsor the kindergarten of Diana with a nice sum of money. I am sure that we will make her, and with her her colleagues and the 75 children, very happy.
